    The RoleThis is a senior-level position sitting between our bookkeeping team and firm ownership. You'll own complex client work directly (~60%), serve as the quality review layer for junior bookkeepers (~25%), and contribute to process standardization and documentation (~15%).

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage staff and supervise the monthly bookkeeping process from start to finish, ensuring timely issuance of financial statements.Handle end-to-end bookkeeping for complex clients as needed.Review monthly financials and ensure compliance with US GAAP.Interact with US-based clients and address their accounting concerns.Independently address complex accounting issues, including accruals, payroll transactions, equity transactions, and other financial adjustments.Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial analysis.Coordinate with external auditors to provide requested documents and reconciliations Coordinate with tax preparers to provide requested information and reconciliationsOptimize accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.Mentor team members and provide excellent leadership support.Other ad hoc tasks as assigned
    QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA is a plus).10 years of total accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a US firm.Minimum of 2 years of management experience.Extensive experience in accrual accounting.Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp is required; experience with Bill.com, or Gusto is a plus.Familiarity with the following platforms is also advantageous:Rho (banking and bill pay)Rippling (payroll)Justworks (payroll)Double (formerly Keeper) for monthly closeCarta (equity management software)Strong communication and leadership skills.High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Comfort leveraging AI and automation tools (e.g., data analysis, workflow optimization, reporting) to drive efficiency and insightWillingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance financial processes and reporting
