Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly capable Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer to support tendering and pre-contract commercial activities for construction projects. The role requires strong experience in digital quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tender analysis and RFI management.
The successful candidate must be proficient in Plan Swift and Bluebeam and capable of extracting quantities from PDF drawings, AutoCAD drawings and BIM models. The candidate will work closely with the engineering and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities• Perform detailed quantity take-offs from PDF drawings, AutoCAD drawings and BIM models • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity breakdowns and cost estimates • Utilize Plan Swift and Bluebeam for digital measurement and drawing analysis • Review tender drawings, specifications and scope requirements • Prepare and manage RFIs (Requests for Information) during the tender stage • Identify scope gaps, design inconsistencies and commercial risks within tender documents • Coordinate with engineering, procurement and commercial teams during bid preparation • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare bid comparisons • Assist in cost planning, tender clarifications and commercial submissions • Maintain organized records of quantities, RFIs, tender correspondence and revisions
Minimum Requirements• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management • Minimum 7 years of dedicated experience in Quantity Surveying and tendering • Proven experience in BOQ preparation and digital quantity take-offs • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
Required Technical Skills• Plan Swift – digital quantity take-offs • Bluebeam Revu – measurement and drawing markup • AutoCAD – drawing review and verification • BIM software (Revit / Navisworks or similar) – model review and quantity extraction • Advanced Microsoft Excel – cost analysis and BOQ preparation
Preferred Experience• Experience working within contractor tendering teams • Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects • Familiarity with international measurement standards (POMI, NRM, CESMM) • Exposure to international or Middle East projects
